Enables hearing-impaired people to use specially trained dogs as their "ears" to the world, thereby giving them independence, freedom and constant companionship. After four months of training during dogs are taught to alert their owners to such everyday sounds as an alarm clock, a smoke alarm, a doorbell, specialized phones and even a baby's cry, the dogs are matched to their owners. Cost is $5000 per dog, the service is provided Free of charge to qualified applicants.
