This association is made up of over 50,000 professional animal
health practitioners, including those who work with livestock,
lab animals and small domestic animals. They educate the public
about important animal health care information through educational
programs, films, videos and press releases. They also provide
members with insurance programs covering health, life and
malpractice. Together with the American Animal Hospital Association,
they established the observance of the National Pet Week (each
year in May) with the motto "Happiness Is A Healthy Pet."

Members of this organization are all small animal
veterinarians from the U.S., Canada and various other countries.
The association works to keep its members up to date on medical
breakthroughs and on top of management techniques through
various educational programs. Members can either be a practitioner
affiliate or they can have their clinic critically evaluated
to be certified under the standards established by the association.

As the world's largest registry of pedigreed cats, CFA has
registered over 1,000,000 cats. In addition, the organization
promotes the welfare of cats and the improvement of their
breed, licenses cat shows held under the rules of the organization
and promotes the interest of breeders and exhibitors of cats.
The CFA is also affiliated with the Robert H. Winn Foundation,
a non-profit corporation which supports health-related studies
into feline medical problems.

A service association for the registration of purebred cats
and litters, this international group has members from as
far away as Australia, Japan and Germany. They sponsor pet
shows (including a non-breed household cat show), offer certificates
of breeding, assist breeders seeking a better strain of purity
and work with clubs that put on cat shows.

This organization has over 240,000 members consisting of breeders
and others interested in the American quarter horse. The group
registers pedigrees, maintains records and approves shows,
contests and races.
