There are numerous web sites that feature free consultations with veterinarians in the form of FAQs and general health information. Some, such as CatsUnited.com, have on-line forms upon which questions can be submitted. Others offer free periodic e-mail newsletters, and on-line articles on animal health. Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, for example, offers a free preview issue of its monthly newsletter : "Catnip" focusing on the health and well being of cats.
