| A
report released in February, 2000 by the Travel Industry Association
of America (TIA) underscored the bond between travelers and
the Internet. There are now 52.2 million people who use the
Internet to plan travel, and 16.5 million who booking travel
online. It was reported that Internet usage is higher among
travelers (53%) than all U.S. adults (45%). While pleasure travelers'
Internet usage mirrors that of all travelers, business travelers
are much more likely than total travelers to use the Internet
(70% vs. 53%).
Business travelers have special requirements
for fast, easy and convenient travel, from the onset of planning
and researching to purchasing tickets and taking the trip.
